Password theft is a grave threat. Security breaches occur and your passwords are stolen and sensitive data could find its way into the wrong hands. To prevent this from happening many individuals and companies are turning to Bitwarden.

Bitwarden is an app that offers easy solutions to safely store sensitive data and passwords for any device. Bitwarden has a host of client applications which include a web interface, mobile apps, browser extensions, desktop applications, and a command-line interface. It was launched in August 2016 with an initial release of mobile applications for AndroidOS and iOS, a web vault and browser extensions for Opera and Google Chrome. The extension for Firefox was launched later.

Bitwarden stores all your data in an encrypted vault that syncs across all of your devices. Only you have access to your data. It is fully encrypted before it ever leaves your device, not even the developers of Bitwarden can access your data. The data is encrypted with AES-256 bit encryption, salted hashing, and PBKDF2 SHA-256. The app’s source code is hosted on GitHub and everyone is free to review, audit, and contribute.
